Our Community

Care is about connection

At CM Community Care, we believe good home care is about more than the support someone needs each day. It’s also about helping people feel connected, included and able to enjoy the things that matter to them.

That thinking sits at the heart of Care Beyond Care. By getting to know the people we support, our carers can understand their interests, routines and the little things that make everyday life feel more familiar and enjoyable.

It’s about creating a community around care, bringing together the people we support, their families, our carers and the wider communities we’re part of.

The little things can make a big difference

Some of the most meaningful moments come from simple ideas.

For one person, that might mean listening to familiar music that brings back memories. For someone else, it could be looking forward to a regular game of chess and the conversation that comes with it.

We’ve also explored how technology can support greater independence at home, using Alexa enabled routines to make familiar parts of the day easier to manage.

Whether it is companionship, conversation or helping someone stay connected to the routines they enjoy, these moments all start in the same place. Taking the time to understand the individual and what matters to them.

Being there when it matters

Home care can play an important role in helping people feel supported and less isolated, particularly when they spend more time at home or live alone.

At Christmas, CM has previously funded and delivered 60 meals to isolated clients. It was a simple way to make sure people felt remembered and included at a time of year that can be particularly difficult for those living alone.

That same thinking can shape the activities and initiatives we create throughout the year, from social inclusion and wellbeing projects to seasonal activities and new ideas from our teams.

A community shaped by everyone in it

Care Beyond Care isn’t something that belongs to one person or team. Our carers spend time with people every day, which means they’re often the ones who notice an interest, spot an opportunity or come up with an idea that could make a difference.

We want to encourage those ideas and create more opportunities for our teams, the people we support and our local communities to come together.

As CM continues to develop new activities, partnerships and initiatives, we’ll share them here and celebrate the people who make them happen.

Together, we can go beyond care

Community can be built through big initiatives, but just as often it grows through small moments of connection.

A conversation. A shared interest. A familiar song. A thoughtful gesture.

For us, they’re all part of the same thing. Helping people feel valued, connected and part of something.

That’s what Care Beyond Care means to our community.
