Personal Care

Personal care that still feels personal.

Everyone has their own way of doing things. Their morning routine. How they like to get ready. What they prefer for breakfast. The little things that help them feel comfortable and like themselves.

Our personal care at home provides respectful, professional support with everyday routines while helping people maintain as much independence as possible.

Everyday support, built around you.

Personal care can support people who need a little extra help with everyday activities, whether because of age, changing circumstances or increasing care needs.

Depending on the individual’s care plan, support may include:

  • Washing, bathing and personal hygiene
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Toileting and continence support
  • Mealtime support
  • Appropriate support with prescribed medication
  • Moving safely around the home
  • Everyday routines and maintaining independence

Care is never simply about getting through a list. Our carers take time to understand how someone prefers things to be done, what they can comfortably do themselves and where support can make everyday life easier.

Your routine. Your choices. Your care.

Before care begins, we take the time to understand the person, their needs, routines and preferences.

That helps us build a care plan around how someone actually lives, rather than expecting their life to fit around their care.

As circumstances change, support can be reviewed and adapted too.

Familiarity makes a difference.

Having personal care can involve trusting somebody with very private parts of everyday life. Familiarity and consistency therefore matter.

Wherever possible, we aim to provide continuity through familiar carers who can get to know the individual, recognise their routines and build a trusted relationship over time.

Our carers receive training and ongoing support to help them provide professional, respectful care safely and confidently.

Keeping families connected.

Where appropriate and with the individual’s wishes at the centre, we work alongside families and those closest to them.

Good communication helps everyone understand how care is working and provides an opportunity to discuss changing needs, routines or concerns.

Personal care. And everything around it.

For us, good personal care isn’t just helping someone get dressed.

It’s knowing which outfit makes them feel most like themselves. It’s encouraging someone to do the things they can still do independently. It’s noticing the small changes that matter.

That’s Care beyond care.
