Reassurance, right through the night.
For some people, support doesn’t stop when the day ends.
Our overnight care at home provides reassurance and practical support through sleep-in or waking night care, depending on individual needs.

Our overnight care at home provides reassurance and practical support through sleep-in or waking night care, depending on individual needs.
Overnight care can support people who need reassurance, assistance or a carer’s presence during the night while remaining in their own familiar surroundings.
CM provides two forms of overnight support:
Sleep-in care
A carer stays in the home overnight and is available when reasonably required.
Waking night care
A carer remains awake throughout the night to provide support in line with the agreed care plan.
The appropriate option will depend on the person’s individual circumstances and the level of overnight support required.
Before overnight care begins, we’ll take the time to understand what support is needed, existing routines and what helps the person feel comfortable and reassured at night.
The agreed care plan then gives our carers clear guidance while keeping the individual’s preferences at the centre of their support.
Nighttime can feel particularly vulnerable, which makes trust and familiarity important.
Wherever possible, we aim for continuity so the person receiving care can become familiar with the carers supporting them.
Carers providing overnight support receive appropriate training and ongoing support for the care they are expected to provide.
Overnight care can also provide reassurance for families, particularly when a loved one requires support at times when relatives cannot be there themselves.
Where appropriate, we’ll communicate with the people involved in someone’s care and review support as needs change.
It’s understanding someone’s bedtime routine.
Knowing what helps them feel settled.
Providing calm reassurance when they need another person nearby.
That’s Care beyond care.
Talk to us about the level of support required and we can help you understand whether sleep-in or waking night care may be appropriate.
